WHO WOULD HAVE thought that there are sand dunes in Melaka.
Well, it is not the ‘natural’ sand dunes such you found in the desert, but it is actually just land reclaimed in Klebang.
Yes, we lost the beach, but this artificial sand dune does offer a different landscape and becomes quite popular among the locals especially to newlyweds for their wedding pictures to be admired in years to come.
There are traffic jams almost every weekend especially in the early morning and late evening. There is no proper road to this “close to public” compound so some good-hearted youths would help stranded drivers who are not familiar with driving on sands.
Like any sand dunes, the landscape is quick to change. The sand dunes are no longer there, replaced with brick and mortar of highrises.
Now we lost the beautiful white beach and the sand dunes. In its place now are high ends highrise condos that are definitely not meant for us.
