Like a beautiful tapestry, its colourful and intricate history were beautifully combed and intertwined making Melaka so harmoniously unique in heritage and culture.

From the tale of swashbuckling warriors of the five brothers of Hang Tuah, Hang Jebat, Hang Lekir, Hang Lekiu and Hang Kasturi, to the fall of the Sultanate to the foreign powers, the Peranakan heritage and later modern attractions of 5D museum, oceanarium and sky tower offering vast aeriel view, this small state has a lot to offer to its visitors.

It is impossible to discover all the attractions in Melaka in just a few days. They are historical sites to see, eclectic blend of customs, traditions, food and lifestyle to experience, and of course there are other modern attractions like the river cruise, the glass deck at the Shore Sky Tower that have to be in the itinerary.

Recently, we got the opportunity to join the travel agents from Singapore to experience some of the must see attractions organised by the Tourism Melaka along with Melaka State Government and Straits Hotel and Suits.

There are also so many restaurants and eateries nearby for gastronomy experience, where guests can try the eclectic choice of local Malay food, Indian, Mamak, Peranakan or Chinese cuisines. The famous would be the chicken rice balls.

Like most modern hotel, the bathroom is using glass wall. The reason is to allow natural light to flow and use less energy. There is a screen for privacy, unfortunately the designer failed on practicality. Imagine if your partner decided to ‘tease’ you and flip open the screen while you are sitting on the ‘throne’ doing your business.

Yes, the screen is on the other side of the room where you have no control if your bedmate decided to torture you.

You can enjoy the view of parts of Melaka city

The hotel room is luxurious and perfect for those wanting a good rest and relaxation after a day exploring Melaka city. Other facilities include a kitchenette, television, mini fridge and also most importantly, free wifi.
