Who doesn’t love ice-cream?
Of course, like the most average Malaysians, our normal sweet and cool cravings would be the Walls tubs series. But, sometimes or once in a blue moon, the cravings sometimes had eyes for Baskin Robbins or even Haagen Dazs.

My all time favourite is of course the chocolate ones. Either full blown chocolate ice-cream or praline, chocolate mint or chips, anything with chocolate is my first choice.
So, when I got an invitation for limited edition peanut butter ice-cream from Haagen Dazs. Obviously, what I expect was to taste the ice-cream. I did not expect that we had to work for it first.

Okay, it wasn’t as dramatic as I made it sound. But, for a person who know that she cannot bake nor decorate a cake, participating in a contest to decorate an ice-cream cake, well, it can be a bit daunting. Luckily, my partner was a culinary student. I felt safe.
Anyway, this article is not about me trying to pipe icing on a cake and failed, but more on the exclusive Peanut Butter Crunch ice-cream that are only available until the end of this year.

But to make it more exciting, Haagen Dazs Malaysia had commission a renowned Singapore dessert chef, Janice Wong to create two extraordinary sweet desserts that would surely melt the hearts of peanut and chocolate lovers.
The desserts which the main ingredient is of course peanut butter are called Cloud Nine and S’more & Fudge.

Cloud Nine is inspired by the classic combination of peanut butter and jelly but with an imaginative twist. Recreating the crunch with biscuit tuiles and the jelly with indulgent strawberry chocolate and passionfruit caramel cream, it is perfectly paired with the Haagen Dazs Peanut Butter Crunch ice-cream and plated on a creative burst of chocolate paints.

Meanwhile, S’more & Fudge is inspired by the classic milkshake with hot melting fudge. It is served in a tall glass and the glass is painted inside with eye-catching brightly coloured chocolate swirls followed by layers of Haagen Dazs Peanut Butter Crunch ice-cream and cookies topped with flamed marshmallow for a textural experience. Garnished with a strawberry truffle and colourful chocolate disks, the drink is fun, playful, rich and comforting.
During the unveiling of the two dessert by the chef herself, the media representatives were each given the props to assemble our own Cloud Nine. It was a flurry of activities as each team tried to scoop, pipe, build our Cloud Nine like a stack of Jengga on a plate with myriads of colours of our rendition of chocolate gooey.

Can’t say that I am not proud of our creation though. Our plate looked like a burst of Van Goh colourful painting on a plate. But alas, we had to acknowledge defeat by other groups that were of course better than ours.
Both the Cloud Nine and S’more & Fudge are only available exclusively at Haagen Dazs restaurant in Sunway Velocity Mall from the 1st October until 16th November. They are priced at RM32.90 and RM19.90 each respectively.
Meanwhile, the limited edition Haagen Dazs Peanut Butter Crunch pint is priced at RM30.40 and the Peanut Butter Crunch Stickbars at RM9.35 each. Both available at Haagen Dazs retailers across Malaysia.
So, for those who want to enjoy this delicious smooth, thick velvety peanut butter ice-cream with caramelised crunchy nut pieces in it, get yours at all Haagen Dazs retailers before year ends.
